Problem

Product-safety information is buried in fine print, jargon, and databases ordinary shoppers never see. The goal was a single gesture — point your phone at a product — that returns an honest, legible verdict on how safe it is.

Architecture

A photograph flows through OCR and computer vision to read the label, an integration with a toxicology database scores the detected ingredients against known hazards, and an LLM risk model fuses everything into one A+–F health-safety grade — the proof that this is a real shipped product, not a prototype.

Role

Founder and engineer — the vision pipeline, the toxicology scoring, the LLM risk model, the App Store release, and the freemium product.

Outcome

Live on the Apple App Store with an Android beta in progress; freemium with Student and Family tiers. The "I ship real consumer products" proof.

What it took

Technical proof.

  • Shipped to the Apple App Store; Android in beta.
  • OCR + computer vision read any label, even partial or angled.
  • Toxicology-database integration scores ingredients against known hazards.
  • LLM risk model fuses the signals into one consumer-legible A+–F grade.
  • Freemium model: Student ($9.99/mo) and Family ($29.99/mo) tiers.
